National Girl Child Day 2019 will be celebrated on Thursday, 24th of January.

The day in 2019 is celebrated with theme of “Empowering Girls for a Brighter Tomorrow”.

Many programmes are organised and scheduled for the occasion including awareness campaign on save girl child, child sex ratios and creating a healthy and safe environment for a girl child.



Haryana would be awarded for its good performance for the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative of the national government. The award would be presented on 24th January at an event in New Delhi organised on the occasion of National Girl Child Day. Rajasthan would also be included in the award for its improved performance for the same.

Andhra Pradesh would be celebrating a weeklong event on the occasion of National Girl Child Day. The event will include awareness programs, self-defence training, drawing and painting competitions for children, child literacy etc.

Hansika Motwani , the latest actress to fall prey to online hackers, has reacted to the recent events of her private photos being leaked online via an Instagram channel. A day after the pictures flooded social mead site and even went on to make headlines, the actress informed those concerned that her phone and Twitter accounts have been hacked and warned against responding to messages that the miscreants may have sent. "Phone n Twitter hacked please don’t respond to any random messages. My back end team is working on getting things in control," she said in a tweet.
